Al Ahly (Africa)
Ahly started their FIFA Club World Cup campaign by beating New Zealand side Auckland City 3-0 easily in the preliminary round on Wednesday to set up the Seattle Sounders clash.
Ahly players enjoyed superb support from the tournament host’s Moroccan fans during the game against Auckland City and are expected to enjoy the same on Saturday.
One of the best sides in African league football will be gracing this tournament for the eighth time and have finished in third place three times. Al Ahly has been unbeaten since the beginning of the season after the appointment of Swiss Marcel Koller. They have also recently advanced to the Egypt Cup final.
Al Ahly are a top side with quality players from around the globe, leading in the Egyptian league.
Seattle Sounders (America)
The Americans will be the first MLS to grace the FIFA World Club Cup. They came to the limelight Brain Schweitzer took over in 2016. The Rave Green secured the ticket to this tournament after defeating Pumas UNAM in the final of the CONCACAF Champions League in May.
Since October, the Sounders haven’t participated in any competitive tournament. Their recent games were friendlies against Wolfsburger (Austria) and Hammarby IF (Sweden).
The Seattle Sounders squad are a mix of young and experienced players, and we expect them to fight here.

Both sides will square off for the first time in this tournament, and we expect an intriguing match here. Seattle Sounders are a top side with excellent players; however, they head here without playing a competitive game since October. This can’t be compared to Ahly, who have engaged in more meaningful matches this season. Moreover, Al Ahly will be playing with what seems to be their own fans since the tournament will be hosted in Morocco.
